Our Architectural Department is currently involved in a design and planning project for a development of 15 flats on a brownfield site in Bracknell. The site was previously occupied by St Margaret Clitherow Roman Catholic Church but it has been vacant for some time and the proposed development will bring a welcome investment into the area.
The contemporary design consists of 9 two-bedroom and 6 one-bedroom flats over 5 floors including a penthouse flat and undercroft parking. Each flat will have its own patio at ground floor level or balconies and terraces for the upper levels.
The 6640m² development site sits within a residential area and will include ample parking and extensive landscaping with planting beds and a communal terrace.
The design features low energy usage with good insulation and high spec windows and doors. The plans include provision for cycle and motorcycle spaces, disabled parking and a possible walking/cycle link to nearby South Hill Road
The plans are currently with Bracknell Forest Council for approval.
