A land deal and ransom strip negotiation between Lymington Town Council, the landowners and a developer reached a fair settlement all round recently, thanks in part to the involvement of Chris Daniells of Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors.
We were appointed by the family landowners to negotiate on their behalf in respect of the option held by Pennyfarthing Homes, the developers. The lengthy negotiation process involved securing the full market value for the land for our clients and consequently the ransom sum due to the council.
The ransom strip, as it is known, between the development land and the street is owned by Lymington and Pennington Town Council and they secured a windfall of £1.7m as part of the deal.
As you can see from the attached press release in the Lymington Times, the council are delighted with the outcome, as are our clients, the landowners.
Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors are currently in negotiations for five very large separate deals across the South of England where we are acting in respect of either land owners, option holders or holders of ransom strips. We are building a well-known reputation for both experience and hard negotiation where appropriate.
