The Architectural team at Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors have been involved in the multi-million pound Solent Airport refurbishment.
The airport, formerly know as HMS Daedalus is situated at Lee-on-the-Solent and has been owned by Fareham Borough council since 2015. Their vision for the site is to become the premier location for aviation, aerospace engineering and advanced manufacturing businesses in the South.
Gary Wensley, from DHCS, has been working with Fareham Borough council on the Control Tower. He provided designs for the internal alterations, external car-parking and approach. DHCS also managed the planning and building regulations.
The control tower is being developed as a destination for aviation enthusiasts to watch the airport in action. The plans involve providing an open-plan seating area, new toilets, refurbishing the ground floor to include a cafe, as well as a new heating system and an enlarged car park.
Work to the Control Tower was completed in July 2018.
