Chris Daniells recently attended the University of Portsmouth graduation ceremony to present the Kathy Kapakli Award, sponsored by Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors, to Thomas Nurton.
The award was created by Daniells Harrison in conjunction with the University Property Department (part of the School of Civil Engineering and Surveying) in memory of our former colleague Kathy, a Chartered Surveyor, who worked in the Hampshire area for many years.
This is the second year of the award, given for Best Methods and Individual Project student graduating in BSc (Hons) Property Development*.
Tom, the award recipient, has a passion for the performance of retail property, particularly high street property. For his placement year, he was attached to Holloway Iliffe and Mitchell in Portsmouth where he was engaged in various roles around commercial property.
Chris presented Tom with a framed photo of Portsmouth Harbour along with a financial reward at the graduation ceremony at the Portsmouth Guildhall in July.
We wish Tom the best of luck in his future career and look forward to supporting the University and new entrants into the profession.
* The underlying philosophy of the BSc (Hons) Property Development programme is to provide a sound surveying education base for students with an interest in landed property and with the aspiration to reach Chartered Surveyor status and equally enable them to integrate into the job market swiftly and effectively. The course has been developed in conjunction with RICS and in-line with the requirements of potential employers.
