Warminster backland development

pre-app planning permissionOur Architecture team were recently involved in designing a tricky backland development in Warminster, Wiltshire.

The site, located between 2 roads, contained 3 properties.  The original properties were fronting West Street and had an area to the rear which extended south to Pound Row The rear area was overgrown and contained timber sheds and a garage.#

The proposal was to create a dwelling accessed from Pound Row, built with an archway to access car parking both for the original properties and the new property.

When the drawings were complete, Gary Wensley submitted a pre-app first to determine if the planning application would be supported. The pre-app was supported and with some additional drawings and information the planning consent was granted. The site was sold on with the benefit of permission for an additional dwelling.
